Obesity is prevailing in the current era. There are some particular reasons behind this issue. Life style patterns and eating patterns are the most disastrous things that are leading causes of obesity. If we talk about life style patterns, people are involved in such activities that require less physical activity. Moreover, consumption of junk food is another cause of obesity all over the world. If one takes balanced diet, he will be able to control his obesity somewhat. A phenomenon of obesity is more popular in girls as compared to boys.

Empirical researches have shown that obesity is an important aspect of self concept of girls (especially young girls). Young girls, who are significantly conscious about their figure and weight, may develop different psychological problems. Some of these disorders include anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa and binge eating. In binge eating, young girls take large amount of foods and get stressed about their food intake. In order to avoid the effects of this over eating, they involve their selves in self vomiting.

It has been observed that over weight girls, who are not conscious about their weights, will not develop the disorder of binge eating. It has been observed that negative evaluation about body weight is the precursor of problems in the future. Satisfaction with body weight will prevent binge eating and other eating disorders in the future. According to empirical researches, dissatisfied adolescent girls are at greater risk for developing low self esteem, depression and disordered eating. These rates of dissatisfaction with the body are higher in over weight and obese girls.

Girls, who are dissatisfied with their body weight and shape, may experience prominent changes in their body weight in the future. In this way, it is really important to change the self concept of the people with obesity. These dissatisfactions with body weight can also correlate with controlled eating behavior. If an individual feels little control on eating behavior, he will be more dissatisfied with his body weight. In this way, it is really important to regulate the eating and dieting patterns in young adolescents to avoid future problems.
